Settlers Park Retirement Village, situated in Port Alfred, is a haven of peace, security, friendship and beauty managed and maintained by a caring, compassionate and capable team under the auspices of the Settlers Park Association. Originally a Red Cross project, the Settlers Park Association is now an independent and registered non-profit organization (000-351 NPO). Membership of the Association includes both current residents, family members and members of the community who wish to make use of the facilities on offer and who may, over time, wish to become residents. Set in twenty hectares Settlers Park Retirement Village comprises 249 cottages, a modern Frail Care Centre with beds for 36 residents, a spacious Dining Hall, fully operational workshop and an administration block. A qualifying criteria for residency is that one partner must be at least 60 years old. An electric fence and two boomed access points secure the perimeter of the property. In addition to gate guards, roving patrols keep the property under constant surveillance. Within the property, there are no fences, permitting a true park-like environment to be enjoyed by residents, visitors and employees.

| The Settlers Park Association’s primary objective is to establish and maintain housing, care facilities and community amenities for both the aged and the disabled, employ staff, including nursing and social workers, and administer the village in a caring, cost efficient and compassionate manner for the benefit of all its residents and members. |
| Our Constitution |
| Bound by a Constitution and the Housing Development Schemes for Retired Persons Act, the income and property of the Association, from whatever source derived, are applied and utilised solely for the objectives of the Association as set forth in the Constitution. The management team is answerable to an elected Board of Directors and all financial affairs are subjected to an annual audit. |
