The Book Launch, a first for Settlers Park, was arranged by Irene Marais and Danielle Fourie in the Hibiscus Room. It was a well-attended and most enjoyable occasion.

Vivien de Klerk was Professor of Linguistics and latterly Dean of Students, all at Rhodes. She retired to write full-time. Although she has written short stories and poetry this is her first novel.
“Not to Mention” evokes a love/hate relationship with the book. The story is crafted around crossword clues but even if you are not good at crosswords, like me, this gut-wrenching narrative is totally compelling. Read it!
