Activities at Settlers Park
Keeping active mentally and physically
Retirement is a time to enjoy all life has to offer and take the pace a little slower. It’s also the perfect time to explore new hobbies, interests and activities. We also know how important it is to remain physically fit and active, which is why we offer a range of activities to keep both minds and bodies busy.

Entertainment and games
We offer all sorts of games and fun evenings to keep you entertained:
- 100 Club – meets at Glen’s Den where the draw takes place and up to R1 000 can be won
- Bingo – regular Bingo evenings are held at Glen’s Den where all are welcome to participate and socialise
- Music concerts – with toe tapping music to get everyone dancing
- Quiz nights – meets a few times a year to test your wits, with lots of fun and laughter
Groups and talks
Whatever your interests, you’ll most likely find a club that meets regularly in the Village:
- Lower Albany Historical Society (LAHS) – organises expert talks and arranges tours of places of historical interest
- Bellacapella Choir – a fun initiative by a very accomplished choir mistress to get everybody singing
- University of the Third Age (U3A) – provides interesting intellectually stimulating talks and get-togethers
For those interested in taking part in community service, Rotary International, Round Table (for under 40s) and Lions Clubs International all have very active branches in Port Alfred.
